Why can’t I borrow assets for margin trading?
When trading under Futures mode or Multi-currency margin mode, you can use your own funds and leverage to borrow assets. However, borrowing may be temporarily unavailable for the following reasons:
1. Insufficient assets in Simple Earn
Simple Earn is a flexible digital asset product on OKX that allows users to subscribe and redeem assets at any time. Eligible assets subscribed to Simple Earn may be used to support spot margin borrowing.
Only cryptocurrencies supported for margin borrowing are eligible.
Interest generated from margin borrowing is allocated to Simple Earn participants.
If borrowing is unavailable during trading, it may be because there are not enough eligible assets available in Simple Earn to support new borrowing requests.
2. High borrowing demand
When you request to borrow assets, the system evaluates the current utilization of the lending pool. If overall utilization reaches a certain threshold, new borrowing may be temporarily restricted.
You may try again later after liquidity conditions improve.
